DIPLOMA
IN FRENCH
THE PROGRAMME
This is a full-time, four-semester course, with
the first semester dedicated solely to communicative French (FLE) and the last,
for project writing. Aside from acquiring appreciable communicative competence
in French, certified by our internationally recognised Diploma Certificate which
qualifies graduates of this programme to apply for direct entry admission into
some Nigerian Universities and degree awarding Colleges of Education for their Bachelor's
Degree in French, interested students are equally guided to register and
write the French Ministry of Education International Diploma Examination
DELF/DALF or the Test d’Evaluation de Francais (TEF-Canada) Organised by
Alliance Francaise in Nigeria.
The Programme is fully
Residential and all participants are accommodated in the general students’
hostels or the Executive hostel, as they are expected to participate in evening
sporting and other post-dinner socio-educative activities.
FOR WHOM?
The Course is for
interested adult learners, including school leavers, Secretaries,
Receptionists, Marketing and Media professionals, Bankers, Businessmen and
women, Military and Paramilitary personnel and other interested professionals.
It is also open to individuals who desire to enhance their chances of travelling
to the French-speaking countries of Europe or Canada for work or further
studies.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for admission
into the Certificate Programme must be 15 years of age or
above and have a minimum of GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB result or its equivalent with
5 credits including English and Mathematics.
Interested adult
learners without the stipulated qualifications can apply for the certificate
programme, provided they are sufficiently literate.
