FRENCH VILLAGE HOLDS ROAD WALK TOURISM

"All work and no play", it is said,  "makes Jack a dull boy". Students of the Nigeria French Language Village, Ajara-Badagry, fondly called Villageois et Villageoises, had a week-long  Programme which commenced on 14th June, 2025, to unwind and relax, as they mark their annual Hall Week.

The Road Walk Tourism organized by the Students' Representatives Council (SRC) of the institution was first in the series of activities to flag off the events. The Walk, sponsored by People's Fitness Club and supported by the Military and Paramilitary operatives in Badagry,  saw participants defy the heavy rain in the early hours, to take about seven (7) kilometres walk from the Nigeria French Language Village by 6.30 a.m passing through the  Roundabout, to historical sites in Badagry - Slave Relics, First Storey Building, the Agia Tree monument  where Christianity was first preached in Nigeria, to the Slave Trade Museum. The group also had a brief stop over at the palace of the paramount ruler, Aholu Menutoyi I., the Akran of Badagry Kingdom after which they returned to French Village by 9:30 a.m.

The Walk Tourism was a remarkable experience that exposed  students to some important historical and tourist sites in Badagry.
