In his remarks, the Director/CEO, Prof. Samuel Oladiipo Kolawole, FNITI, MNAL. revealed that the institution had received a zonal intervention from TETFund, an opportunity he described as a welcomed breakthrough. In addition to the smart board, other items included in the Zonal Intervention Package are 35 fully configured laptops, 2 super executive table and chairs. Noting that our institution is one of a few institutions nationwide that have benefitted from this intervention, he expressed the hope that the Nigeria French Language Village would continue to enjoy more of such special support in the future.
Prof. Kolawole described the smart board as a strategic tool that will enhance teaching and learning across the institution. He recalled that The Nigeria French Language Village once prided itself on its functional language laboratory, expressing optimism that this innovation would help restore that sense of academic excellence.
Immediately after the launch, a hands-on training session commenced for lecturers. The training was facilitated by Mr. Abiola Olaide from the Electronic Educative Initiative (EEI). He opened his session noting that, “The world is being forced and pushed into ICT,” adding that while innovation may present initial challenges, the willingness of lecturers to embrace technology will motivate Management to further invest in modern educational tools.
The session was practical, engaging, and enlightening. Mr. Abiola encouraged staff to make consistent use of the smart board to avoid the common challenge of new equipment being abandoned. He stressed that effective utilization is key to improving the overall quality of education. The event concluded with a group photograph, capturing the enthusiasm and spirit of progress shared by participants.
