FRENCH VILLAGE ANNOUNCES NORMAL TETFUND-SPONSORED DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS

Following the waiver granted the Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV) to benefit from TETfund intervention, the Inter-University Centre for French Studies is now set to execute some developmental projects for which contractors had already been mobilized. Prof. Diipo Kolawole, FNITI, MNAL, the Director/CEO, while addressing the institution’s workforce recently in Badagry, attributed this intervention received after fourteen years of NFLV delisting from TETfund in 2011, to the magnanimity of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa and the resilience of Alh. Labiru Musa Kafur-led Governing Council. The significant upcoming developmental projects set to transform the institution in the months ahead include:
• Renovation of the main auditorium
• A major facelift for the Language Resource Centre (LRC)
• Refurbishment of the boys’ hostel
• Construction of a skill acquisition centre
• Refurbishment of the Library
• Supply of ICT equipment
The announcement signaled renewed momentum toward infrastructural development, improved learning conditions, and the institution’s long-term vision of strengthening French language education in Nigeria.
