Nigeria French Language Village Takes Over Newly Renovated Male Hostel
On Tuesday, January 13, Prof. Diipo Kolawole FNITI, MNAL, the Director / CEO, of the Nigeria French Language Village accompanied by Management staff, were at one of the newly renovated male hostels of the institution for a formal inspection and temporary take-over of the facility to meet its urgent need. The project was executed through the restored intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), made possible with the support of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Chairman of the Nigeria French Language Village Council, Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, mni.
The renovation of the male hostel marks another significant milestone in the institution’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the welfare of students. As part of the upgrade, the hostel was equipped with new mattresses and wardrobes to improve students’ comfort and storage needs. The installation of new windows and replacement of worn-out floor tiles further enhanced the safety, ventilation, and overall ambience of the building. In addition, the plumbing system was completely upgraded, ensuring improved water supply and sanitation, while new ceilings were installed to reinforce durability and aesthetic quality.
Special attention was also given to the hostel’s sanitary facilities. The lavatory and bathrooms were fully renovated to meet modern hygiene standards, providing students with cleaner and more convenient facilities. Fresh coats of paint were applied across the entire building, significantly improving its visual appeal and creating a more welcoming living space for occupants.
The renovated male hostel with 80-bed space capacity now offers improved accommodation that supports a comfortable and conducive learning environment. During the handover exercise, the Director / CEO embarked on a guided tour of the facility to inspect the quality of work carried out. The officers expressed satisfaction with the standard of the renovation, describing it as commendable and in line with the institution’s vision for infrastructural development.
The commissioning of the renovated male hostel reflects the Nigeria French Language Village’s commitment to creating an enabling environment that supports academic excellence, cultural immersion, and student well-being. It also highlights the impact of strategic partnerships and government interventions in strengthening educational institutions across Nigeria.
The Management of the Nigeria French Language Village reaffirmed its dedication to sustaining and maintaining the facility while continuing to pursue projects that will further enhance the institution’s academic and residential infrastructure for the benefit of present and future students.
